A member of the Polygonaceae, the Buckwheat Family

Habit, in fruit.  Visible part of tape is extended 15 inches.

Off of Kelbaker Road, about two miles south of Kelso Depot,
at ca. 2100 feet elevation.

Stem detail, illustrating the reason some of this species' common names include the word
"rhubarb".  Cultivated rhubarb is, however, in the same family, but a different genus.

Habitat, apparently in bloom; the flowers do have a pinkish cast as shown here,
but at this distance, the immature fruits would look about the same.
